Congratulations to Oliva Artz, who set a new US National Record in the All-Ages State Championship event with her 50m Barebow score of 580!

 

 

 

On Labor Day weekend, the ITAA will be holding its JOAD Outdoor State Championship and All-Ages Outdoor State Championship.  The Board confirmed that we will be holding these events, but several details about them are still being determined.  Additional details, event web sites, and registrations will be listed here on the ITAA web site as the information becomes available.

As safety is always a primary focus of event organization, additional safety considerations will no doubt be part of the plan for the state tournaments, just as it was with the late June Club Promotional Tournament.

COVID Changes:

Due to the Illinois DPH guidelines on social distancing the following range rules will be in place for this event.

• Archers will need to assemble their bows in the parking lot
• Archers will be allowed to check-in only 30 minutes prior to their line time
• Only two archers per target
• Limited spectators will be allowed – please practice social distancing
• No tables or chairs will be provided – spectators can bring chairs, please use discretion
• Archer or spectator tents are prohibited
• Only water will be available
• Face masks required when not shooting
• Archers must pull their own arrows

The Illinois DPH guidelines for Sports current guidance (Aug 19th) allows holding archery tournaments up to state championships, but not inter-state tournaments.  This means that out-of-state participation is not within the guidelines at this time (but it’s conceivable that it might be allowed in September).

Payments:

Payments will be done on the day-of.  With so many unusual factors this year, and so much possibility for changes happening, it’s better than you hold onto your own money until the arrows are about to fly.

USA Archery Changes:

Coaches must have Safesport & Background check certifications to be allowed on the field
