Welcome to the ITAA Athlete Spotlight!

 

Every couple months, we will shine the spotlight on a fellow ITAA member.  Whether they have performed well in a competition, supported the organization, or are just really, really good looking, this is a member you should get to know.

 

Next up is Montana Anderson.  Montana is a talented JOAD compound shooter who has performed well in local and national events alike.  Here’s what she had to say:

1) What’s your favorite style of archery to shoot?

My favorite style would be compound because that’s just how I grew up and I know more about compound bows than other bows!

2) How did you get started in the sport?  Why did you pick the JOAD program?

I started shooting because my dad and I hunt.  After the season was over we joined a league at TAZ Archery.  Tim, the owner, asked me to join his JOAD team and here I am now!

3) What archery accomplishment are you most proud of?

The accomplishment I am most proud of would be winning the female open class champion at Mid-states! I was going against other women that have more experience than me and I knew I had to work extra hard to win.

4) What’s your most embarrassing archery moment?

The most embarrassing moment I have had would probably be at outdoor nationals! I was new to scoring and marking arrows so I didn’t really know what you were supposed to. The girl that was shooting next to me was really good and she asked me what I was doing and I just felt so lost and confused.

5) Any advice for your fellow archers?

My advice to others would be to try your hardest on every shot you take! If you make a bad shot get over it and make to next one better
